Jeremy Mattoon is the Director for all high school teams and oversees operations of the entire MDX-R program.
Coach Mattoon has been coaching lacrosse at every level for the past twenty years. He has coached youth, high school varsity, collegiate, and international teams.
He spent five years coaching at the collegiate level where he experienced tremendous success as a recruiter, motivator, and field general. Coach Mattoon has been awarded Coach of the Year honors four separate times; most recently, as the head coach at Hood College in 2011 where he was named the Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and led his team to the conference playoffs for the first time in program history.
Dan Oliver is the Director for all MDX-R teams (Grades 2-12)
Coach Oliver is the varsity head coach of Montgomery Blair HS. He is a teacher and 5th/6th grade lacrosse coach at the Mater Dei School in Bethesda. Dan has been coaching lacrosse for the past 8 years. He was on the staff at St. John’s College High School from 2017-2020. During his time at St. John’s, the Cadets made two WCAC Championship appearances – winning the school’s first title in 2017.
Steve Puhl is the Director for all middle school teams (grades 7 – 8).
Coach Puhl has been been a teacher and high school lacrosse coach in Montgomery County for over 10 years. He is currently the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Richard Montgomery High School.
Coach Puhl led RM to an undefeated season and the most wins in school history in 2019. He was named the Montgomery County Coach of the Year & Richard Montgomery HS Coach of the Year in 2019. Coach Puhl has been working with MDX-R for four years. He also serves as the Head Coach of the MDX-R 2021 Elite & 2025 teams.
